Disabled access

We adapt our activities, where necessary, to ensure that all students are able to enjoy a stay at Pendarren House and partake fully in the exciting activities. This can be done for an entire group as we cater for SEND Schools as well as mainstream schools with individual pupils with SEND. We enable access for individual students with SEND so they are included along with their classmates.

We have specialist equipment to help make our activities accessible to as many students as possible.

The Firs and Annexe have accessible bedrooms and bathrooms. The fire alarm system in the Annexe has audible and visual fire sounders.

Access for wheelchairs

• The Firs bungalow has ramp access and a wheelchair accessible twin bedroom with shower and toilet.
• There is a battery powered portable hoist.
• One minibus on site with wheelchair access. 
• There is ramp access to the ground floor of the main house.
• Whilst there are steps in the grounds much of it is accessible to wheelchairs.
• Pendarren has two off-road wheelchairs which are taken out on the adventurous activities.
